a holiday i can get behind

in honor of national margarita day i thought i would share some margaritas with you all. no, i'm not buying a round, but i am posting pictures! you'll notice that most of the pictures look the same and that's because a lot of them were taken at vivo. vivo is the place to go for a margarita in austin. there are some other good ones but vivo happens to be my favorite. another favorite was jamie's, it was the perfect place to go before a show at stubb's. it was also one of my favorite places to eat during sxsw because it was never crowded and i could get some cheap bean and cheese tacos and cool off in their air conditioning. jaime's closed in july and i don't think i'll really feel its absence until sxsw next month.

i honestly had no idea that national margarita day even existed. here, i would call that cinco de mayo...the day all the white people drink margaritas and eat queso. i was at vivo on saturday with some friends and we were approached to be interviewed by abc campus news about national margarita day. they had done a poll of the best places to get margaritas (according to ut students, i'm assuming) and they were visiting the top 5 places. their list was vivo, trudy's, chuy's, baby a's, and z tejas. i told them that z tejas was the only other place on that list worth going to. trudy's is alright, i guess but chuy's and baby a's have some of the worst margaritas ever. anyway, since i recently lent my image and opinion to a local news network (a few months ago i was interviewed about the cricket infestation that happens here every fall), i passed the buck to my good friend lisa. she fielded the answers like a champ and i think managed to not look like a total drunk-ass.

edited to add a link to the abc news piece featuring the back of my hair and lisa looking and sounding better than anyone else in this piece.
